Maps and Waymarkers

Use Frontier’s Map to record a route and Wilderlands Waymarkers to make that route visible when you travel through the world.

  1. Craft a Frontier’s Map, right-click it, and give it a name.
  2. Use the line, eraser, text, and stamp tools to record roads, landmarks, and expedition notes. Stamps can be scaled and rotated.
  3. Craft a Sextant when you need a precise location. Hold right-click for a few seconds while aiming at a block or landmark, then import the saved measurement with the Sextant button in the lower-right of the map.
  4. Export a map to share it, or import a map onto a new or existing map.

The installed Legacy Stamp Pack adds additional stamp choices for Frontier’s Map. Use the in-game handbook’s Frontier’s Map Guide for the basic controls.

  • Place cairns along roads, at crossings, and near important turns. The small, medium, tall, and flat variants let you match the marker to the route.
  • Place buoys on water routes. Use a lantern buoy where a lit marker is useful at night; a bag buoy provides an oiled-hide option.
  • Use local stone for cairns and keep marker spacing consistent so the trail is easy to follow in both directions.

Waymarkers are physical trail signs, while the map preserves the route and its notes. For current recipes and updates, see Frontier’s Map on ModDB and Wilderlands Waymarkers on ModDB.
