Butchering
Butchering
Section titled “Butchering”The Butchering mod replaces instant animal drops with a short processing chain. Prepare a knife, a Skinning Hook, and a Butchering Table before you go hunting. A Butchering Bag is optional, but makes larger carcasses easier to carry.
Quick process
Section titled “Quick process”- Kill the animal, then right-click the carcass to pick it up. Small animals fit in ordinary inventory slots; larger carcasses use the bag slots or a Butchering Bag.
- Right-click a Skinning Hook with the carcass to hang it. Hold right-click on the hook with a knife until the animal is skinned.
- Wait for the carcass to bleed out. Its colour changes when it is ready.
- Right-click the hook to take the carcass down, place it on a Butchering Table, and hold right-click with a knife or cleaver.
- Collect the meat and other resources. Break the remaining bone carcass for bones.
The table and hook tier controls the drop efficiency: primitive or flint is 80%, normal copper or bronze equipment is 100%, and iron equipment is 120%. Put a bucket two to four blocks below a bleeding carcass to collect blood. A Smoking Rack under a lit campfire can preserve the resulting food.
This page is only a quick route. For exact recipes, drop uses, blood and smoking details, and other exceptions, open the in-game handbook’s Butchering: Guide and Butchering: Info entries.
